Where we come from

Central Christian Church of Coral Gables (CCC Gables) was founded in 1927 with a great desire and vision to fulfill the divine commission to build God’s Kingdom.

During its early decades, its efforts were concentrated in meeting the needs of a predominantly Anglo community. As years went by, the transformation of society in South Florida brought new realities and challenges.

Central Christian Church understood the need to refocus its vision in order to effectively meet the needs of a changing society.

Accepting this challenge, on various occasions the church tried to establish a ministry that would respond to the needs of a culturally diverse and complex community.

Overcoming setbacks with love and patience, in 1998, under the leadership of Rev. Jorge Cotto and other leaders with vision, passion and wisdom, they established guidelines for the development of a very particular and unique ministry. A new chapter began with big dreams, new goals and expectations.

Presently, Central Christian Church is a church with a fully bilingual and multicultural ministry. Anglos and Hispanos from more than 15 countries have joined their gifts, talents and abilities to work together as a team. Meetings of worship, prayer, Bible Studies in Spanish, English and even Spanglish are held on a weekly basis. Also, the challenge to reach new generations with the transforming message of the gospel is taken seriously.

This congregation has discovered the importance of unity amidst diversity. The complex dynamics generated in a diverse community have been worked through and the result has been a congregation united by the love of Christ. We are One! To God be the glory!
